We have just come back from a weekend at the spa inn. We had a spa afternoon with additional treatments, booked in after and dinner at the inn. Highly recommend booking a table when staying, the room we had was spacious and comfortable. We had breakfast, high tea, and dinner while staying. The staff and service was friendly and welcoming without being over bearing. The local area has some magnificent places to visit. We are hoping to return. A well deserved place to have a retreat.

We visited for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere and decor here is warm and welcoming. The service very good and the food fantastic. Well worth a visit.

Had a spa day Christmas gift,used today Don’t bother for £60 spend your money somewhere else ,Hot tub outside everywhere covered in snow nothing was cleaned of started raining so got soaked no overhead cover went inside there was 1 hot stone sauna and 1 normal sauna that’s it for £60 no treatments or anything included in the £60 no food or drinks . Had food in the restaurant had roast beef sandwich and chips £13 and a glass of Prosecco £8 Very poor customer service in the restaurant and the spa staff were very poor if you weren’t having expensive treatments they weren’t bothered Would I go again definitely not don’t waste your money . Spend your Christmas money elsewhere very disappointed.

Great location, lovely decor with the pub and the restaurant. Food is really nice and there are lots of real ales and local brewery's to try.

Currently staying here. Lovely hotel and room, extremely clean, lovely staff. Unfortunately, it is let down by abysmal food. Improve on the food offering and it would be five stars all round.

Lovely pub, nice food and atmosphere. However, was surprised to be charged £7.40 for two pints of Pepsi max poured from a 2L bottle of pop from the supermarket.

Fantastic stay at the three horse shoes, room was lovely, jacuzzi bath was a real treat. Bed super comfy too. Food was fantastic and service from all staff excellent. We were so impressed we booked again to go back to the spa with a lovely lunch before.

Casual visit for a Friday Lunch. What a surprise regarding the carvery, too much meat and the vegetables were outstanding. Will return when next visiting the area.

PUB REVIEW ONLY (didn't book accommodation or spa) Went on a quiet Tuesday night and the atmosphere first was amazing- lots of candles and dim lights with a nice warm feeling. The waitress behind the bar was so warm and friendly and checked on us several times. Food was amazing, had the steak and ale pie and fish and chips- the fish was great value and had a high fish to batter ratio which is what you want. Chips were triple cooked and excellent. Great if you want a quick meal, as you order at the bar with a table number, also means you can order more easily if you need to.

We had a wonderful evening and day. We stayed in a Four poster Room with private Garden and hot tub. The room was superb with the best pillows I have ever used. Food was nice, service was great. We used the spa and that was brilliant even had a mud treatment and used the beach hut.

BAD EXPERIENCE. Myself and my friend came for a spa day and overnight stay booked through Secret Escapes - the spa exerience was so disappointing that we decided to leave and not to stay over! The outdoor hot tub was luke warm and it was not pleasant to stay in for longer than 10 minutes. The cold plunge pool was closed and out of order! It was very busy in the hot tub with a sign asking people only to stay in for 15 minutes to allow others a turn. There were towels on all the sunbeds and seats so nowhere to sit outside. We politely complained to staff and requested a refund - the staff were rude and didn't even look up to give us eye contact. The manager stayed in the office and spoke to her colleague through the wall without coming out to speak to us or apologise . Lesson learnt: If there's a cheap deal it's probably for a good reason. We won't be returning!

We were on a voucher trip, spa, dinner and breakfast, the spa was lovely, all the staff during our stay were great, nothing too much trouble, the dinner, cocktails and beer all exceptional, the only thing that let it down was the room, the room was really hot and the bed was so uncomfortable with a hard mattress and springs that you could feel that we didn't sleep, which is a shame after such a lovely spa and dinner. There was a fan in the room however this was nit functioning properly and was very noisy so we couldn't use it. Not sleeping would put us off of coming back as it then impacted our next day's activities, which is a really shame as ots such a lovely place.

We went here for our friends wedding. It’s a gem. It has plenty of parking, the food is very nice. As you walk in you’re greeted to a log fire and a calm atmosphere. Its location is perfect set in the Peak District. The wedding reception was held in the large function room at the back and has plenty of space and light, the kids loved the dance floor.

Had a twilight spa treat bought for my birthday. Was able to use the spa facilities for 3.5 hours and had a 2 course meal for 2. We decided to also pay to stay the night and was given the pub room which was situated over the function room. The spa was lovely had a lovely time, the food was beautiful and really good sized portions. The room we had unfortunately let the whole experience down. The decor was very tired and dated, the chrome fixtures in the shower were old and rusty, there was someone's left over empty beer can on the curtain pelmet, drawers missing in one of the bedside cabinets and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever (not) slept in!! It was 2 singles pushed together to make a double which made an uncomfortable ridge in the middle. I was uncomfortable all night and didn't sleep at all. The room needs some serious attention.

What a lovely place. As we were there for a.weddi g expecting hiked prices and mediocre food we were pleasantly surprised how good everything was. Ample portions of very good food, fresh veg. I was very happily surprised and plenty to go around the table. The evening buffet was great too, not what you'd expect at all, so nice, fresh well made and good choices. Then breakfast, I was happily surprised again, such tasty sausages not just fried frozen like you'd get at a normal bulk made buffet breakfast bar. I'll be back for more! Compliments to the Chef (all of them) Drink prices! Again I was so happy when a round was a third of the price I was expecting and didn't increase every hour! Thank you for hosting a lovely wedding venue.
